Lissi’s Practice focuses on all aspects of preparing, analyzing and prosecuting post-grant proceedings, including inter partes review (IPR) and covered business method (CBM) proceedings. Lissi’s practice also includes appeals to the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, reissue applications, interference proceedings, patent quality and patent examination matters.
Prior to entering a law firm setting, Lissi served as a Director at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), where she started the Central Reexam Unit (CRU). As Director, she oversaw policies, standards and procedures and developed inter partes and ex parte reexamination training for CRU examiners.
Cheryl Milone Cowles
Cheryl Milone Cowles advises clients on intellectual property (IP) strategies, including IP portfolio development, strategic and competitive analysis of IP assets, and the commercialization of IP. Cheryl’s technical expertise includes electrical and mechanical inventions. Prior to AnswersIP, Cheryl Milone Cowles was a partner at Lee & Hayes, and Cheryl also served as the founder, CEO, and Chairman of Article One Partners. Article One Partners crowdsources requests for patent research to its global community. AOP research is distributed globally online and to 30,000 registered scientists and technologists across 170 countries. AOP has become the world’s largest IP research community. While at Article One Partners, Cheryl was invited to the White House, as one of the top 50 most innovative CEOS in the United States, to contribute to a forum on improving customer service.
Before Article One, Cheryl Milone Cowles practiced as a patent attorney and advocated before the USPTO. Cheryl is a named inventor on three issued U.S. patents, and eight pending patent applications.
